NEMO® barrel emptying systems for hygienic applications are highly versatile and automatically suck themselves towards the bottom of the barrel. With the emptying systems from NETZSCH, you convey directly from barrels and containers with an absolute minimum of residue.

The central element of the hygienic container emptying system is a NEMO® BH progressing cavity pump, which enables constant and low-pulsation pumping. The hygienic pump conveys media with a wide range of properties gently and independently of pressure and viscosity fluctuations. No challenge is too difficult for the NEMO® BH: even low-viscosity to barely flowing media, with or without solids content, and shear-sensitive, sticky or abrasive materials present no problems for the progressing cavity pump. With the optional heating or cooling jacket, you can also quickly convey products that tend to harden or require temperature control. By starting the pump, a vacuum is created under the follower plate. This also exerts a pre-pressure on the medium and thus ensures constant suction. The continuous delivery protects your system from shock loads and therefore reduces wear. In addition, emptying with a residual quantity of less than one percent is guaranteed. This significantly reduces waste, and you save costs at the same time. In this way, you can change the containers without the system coming to a standstill. In turn, you avoid high expenses due to downtimes.

Barrel Emptying System with NEMO® BH Pump

1 Rotor
Available in two geometries and with polished surfaces.

2 Stator with reduced wall thickness
For varying temperatures, a patented stator with reduced elastomer wall thickness is used. In addition, a thermal stator protector (STP-2 or STP-D) protects against overheating and dry running. Stator inlet with hopper-shaped opening to improve product entry into the conveying chamber.

3 Hygienic joints
Patented, open hygienic joints without dead space for optimal cleaning.

4 Drive chain
Drive and connection shaft with coupling rod and two hygienic joints for power transmission from the drive to the rotor.

5 Seal housing
Hygienic shaft seals with pressure-proof screwed shaft seal housing enable reversal of the direction of rotation up to the maximum pump pressure.

6 Protective tubing for stator
It is made of stainless steel (optional).

7 Block design
The drive is flanged directly to the pump lantern, resulting in compact dimensions, low total weight, constant shaft heights independent of the drive's design and size, low maintenance and high serviceability, as well as economy.
