Pumps for Mining and Explosives Industries
A great variety of media must be conveyed in mining, such as wastewater, mineral brine, thickened sludge, suspensions, filtrates, tailing and explosives. The NEMO® and TORNADO® pumps are an ideal solution for abrasive and viscous media.
Delivery of ammonium nitrate emulsion to mining customers
Safety in mining and at construction sites where explosives are used was a problem for a long time, because the storage and transport of “volatile” explosives always constitute an enormous risk. More...
Special base frame for reagent pumps reduces maintenance:
Pump design enhances precision and reliability
Until January 2017, a copper beneficiation plant in Zambia was using pumps from six different manufacturers. Attributable to the large number of different models, this resulted in a steadily growing inventory of similar spare parts and maintenance procedures. More...
Aggressive gold sludge: special pump technology delivers long service life without the addition of water
Global demand for gold and silver remains as high as ever. Precious metals are not only sought after by investors, but are indispensable materials in modern industry. However, mining these resources places machines under extreme stress and can increase the high price of the raw material. The sludge of crushed, gold-bearing stone that is transported for chemical extraction, for example, is extremely abrasive and can destroy pumping systems within a few days. Adding water does make it possible to convey the product, but also increases the effort required in the gold concentration process. More
Special pump for emulsion explosives
Transalpine rail and road tunnels, dams for hydro-electric and storage power plants – the number of major construction sites which need significant explosive work has increased considerably over recent years. The requirements for explosives have been changing. Higher performance and increased safety are the overriding objectives which are demonstrated above all in the greater use of emulsion explosives. In Switzerland alone – traditionally a country with a great deal of tunnel construction – the ratio changed between 1998 and 2005 from 100 percent explosives in cartridge form to 95 percent pumped emulsions. The benefits are huge: the components, which are not dangerous individually, are not mixed until they are on site. The finished mix fully uses the whole borehole, but also goes into small openings. Certainly, high-performance, customised pumps which meet the special challenges of the emulsion matrix or of the explosive are the basis for this. More
Mineral slurry transfer of all types
Irrespective of which mineral slurry is needed to be transferred NETZSCH pumps and Systems will select the most appropriate pump for your application. Zinc or copper, NEMO® or TORNADO® pump, there will be no compromise.
NEMO® BY, NEMO® SY and TORNADO® T2
Dewatering
High pressure capabilities coupled with a reliable and robust construction ensures water levels are kept in check. As the pumps are able to handle suspended solids, separation can be carried out above ground.
NEMO® SY and TORNADO® T2
Explosives
With the compact construction of the BY pumps they can be easily truck mounted for the bore hole filling of tertiary explosives. Equipped with hydraulic drives the pumps can be simply driven without complication.
NEMO® BY, NEMO® SY and TORNADO® T2
Gland seal water
The high pressure capabilities of the NEMO® progressive cavity pump ensures that gland seal water can be safely supplied to critical glands at pressures of up to 50 bar and higher. The ideal combination of high pressure, lower flowrate pulsation free discharge ensures the ideal seal operating conditions.
Thickener Underflow Pumps
A TORNADO® T2 rotary lobe pump or a NEMO® progressing cavity pump? We will select the pump type most suitable for your application, completely impartially. This ensures you get the right pump for the right job.

Wastewater Processing
The correct treatment of waste water from mining operation is of great concern to the environment. NEMO® progressing cavity and TORNADO® rotary lobes have been installed in their tens of thousands throughout the world to handle and treat dirty or contaminated water.
